DEVOURED, 2020-2021 series
In a great crisis, madness transpires through “the panic buy.” Amplified by the media, consumerism satisfies modern survival instincts from the sense of security within the abundance of purchased goods.
Exploring ideas of consumption for survival, my intention is to present and question common motives people share during troubling times.
Inspired by the toilet paper shortages and buying frenzy during the Coronavirus Pandemic, my visuals depict the product consuming the consumer, completely devouring them.

In 2021, Fernanda was one of only three students to be awarded and selected to receive a prize by guest juror and artist, Onyedika Chuke, at the Annual Art Student Exhibition at the Pace University Art Gallery.
